Alberto Delgado joined the firm in 2002 as an associate and was appointed partner in 2008. He heads the Mining and Environment practice, focusing on advising mining companies investing in Peru, covering everything from corporate transactions to the financing of natural resources projects. Alberto has more than 25 years’ experience advising mining and petroleum investors, having participated in large scale mergers and acquisitions in those sectors and represented companies in the development of important projects in Peru. His wide-ranging practice covers from the analysis, evaluation and design of the structures for the acquisition of projects, companies and businesses, to the implementation and defense of the investments; and his international experience includes advising from London in the project financing of mines in Spain, Mexico and Finland. He regularly leads teams dedicated to managing the land access required for projects in the extractive industries and the development of infrastructure, as well as consultancy on socioenvironmental matters in his areas of expertise. With a background as a corporate lawyer and focus on natural resources and infrastructure projects, he has also occasionally advised private investors interested in the development of ports, forestry and agribusiness projects.
